Misty Bloom
This gorgeous close up of my interpretation of gum leaves and gum blossom in the morning mist, one of 3 small works these artworks are 10” x 12 “ (25 x 30.5 cm) and are stretched canvas ready to hang.
The Misty Series are gorgeously soft artworks that have a calmness about them. They are mixed media pieces that incorporate loose, soft charcoal line drawings of abstract flowers and foliage. The calm, soft mint and blue background with the plum shades in the flowers and leaves have created an artwork that I loved from the very start. The flowers and foliage I have painted came from memory, actually very rarely do I use reference photos. The colour pallet came to me by accident as I was using up some unused paint on the cover of a file folder (don’t ever throw good paint away). My pallet had some greens, magenta and white and what it created on that cover was to me, glorious!
